WinTOTAL Aurora (version 5) – May 12th 2006 Update
This update contains improvements throughout WinTOTAL. Also, we're aware that with this update the number displayed for your "In Progress" reports in the Appraisal Desktop's Tracking Folders aren't refreshing properly when moving from the All view to the XSites or WinTOTAL views. This will be fixed with the next update.
Formfilling
- When double-clicking to expand categories in the E&O’s warning view, WinTOTAL no longer jumps to that section.
- When using the =0 feature in the last line of a comparable in the side-by-side view, it now stays in that field instead of jumping to the top of that comp.
- When you clone a report that does not contain a major form, such as an order, you will no longer receive a run-time error 92.
- Renaming a report in the contents view no longer prevents you from closing the contents view.
- QuickList items on the last 4 fields of the comps side-by-side view work correctly now.
- When using Enter to move through comp fields in the side-by-side view, it will now proceed to the next comparable instead of looping through the same one.
- When jumping from the rental comps warning in the E&O reviewer, WinTOTAL now correctly jumps to the rentals grid.
- Additional instances of random cursor jumping have been corrected with this update.
- Using the ‘Jump to other forms’ function to jump from an addenda to a scanned page addenda now works.
- In rare cases, printing a new report after cloning from within the File Cabinet would not work. This now works correctly.
- List price and days on market now correctly transfer to the listing photo page when using an ERC form.
- Using ALT-S to run the spell checker from an addenda page should now work correctly.
- Headers & footers on addenda pages now show correctly.
- Merging from the Forms menu now works correctly.
- Default field formatting for additional comp pages should now be saved correctly.
- Flickering on the Additional Comments section of the new URAR has been fixed.
- When changing the format of numbers greater than 1000 to include a decimal and then taking it off no longer deletes two characters of the number.
- In certain instances, changing the field formatting repeatedly in the same fields in the comps grid would alter the net adjustment. We’ve made changes to prevent this.
- Setting checkboxes to show as circles no longer crashes WinTOTAL. This is part two of two to this fix.
- The Order PowerView should now refresh correctly when checking or unchecking the extended options in the lower left.
- New saving routines have been introduced to ensure that if a report crashes before it’s actually been saved as a .ZAP the first time, the contents will be there when you recover the file.
- The lender’s address is now transferred correctly from the Order PowerView to the major form (like a 1004), and then to its minor form (such as the 1004D).
- The copyright date has been updated in the About WinTOTAL screen. In the Order PowerView, after cloning a report and changing the address, the correct map is now downloaded when clicking the icon next to the Map Ref. field. When using the Add Document feature, adding PDF files made with PDF X-Change now size correctly for the WinTOTAL form so text on the margins isn’t trimmed off.Subject information is now transferred correctly from the major form to the subject photo page and the Description of Improvements in the Summary of Salient Features form.In certain instances, extra spaces added to the end of the report description would create duplicate files after being synchronized to Pocket TOTAL and then back to the desktop. This has been corrected.
Files PowerView
Note: One thing you'll notice that's been changed is the number of reports isn't dispayed next to the "In Progress" folder in your Appraisal Desktop's Tracking Folders now. The main reason is that there was confusion about what was actually defined as "In Progress". If a report is delayed, is it In Progress, or is it Delayed? It's different from appraiser to appraiser. So rather than redefining the rules for each folder which would really throw people off, the simple solution is to not display that total sum next to the In Progress folder. This is also the same reason that we don't show that number on the Appraiser XSite side.
- FHA # now shows on the RELS order form.
- The WorkFile preview now updates correctly as you move from report to report.
- Clicking the “Update History” option in the Files PowerView no longer takes you to the “About WinTOTAL” screen.
- When printing from the expanded view in the Files PowerView, the screen could occasionally show as blank. This has been corrected.
- If you delete more than one file at a time, the screen now refreshes correctly.
- The File Cabinet helper utility, FCHelper.exe, no longer remains resident in memory when it finishes running.
- If you open a report that does not contain any forms, such as an order, the Contents view no longer opens automatically.
- Setting local status on RELS or AppraisalPort orders now works correctly when not tied to an XSite.
- New file compression routines have been introduced to ensure that different preview views in the Files PowerView will not attempt to un-zip the file at the same time.
- When synching some old Athena orders, it was possible that the order date could inadvertently be changed to the sync date. This has been corrected.
- When moving more than 10 reports in the Files PowerView, the screen should now refresh correctly.
- The column title “S” for state lights in the Files PowerView has been removed.
- In several instances, after opening an existing report all the forms would be in place, but the order form would be blank. This has been corrected.
- Now, if an informational “splash screen” in the Files PowerView is displayed and not closed, the expanded details view still works correctly and reports can be opened.
- Now after attaching a folder and trying to copy the reports from that attached folder into your Files PowerView, you’ll no longer receive an error saying, “Cannot copy. Bad file name.”
- Now copying files from CD to a folder in the Files PowerView works correctly.
- You can no longer expand and collapse the report details for files in an attached directory.
- After setting status while on the Report History tab, the screen now refreshes properly.
- Now when changing the state of a report (the red, green or yellow dots), if the report is read-only you’ll get a message saying so instead of an hourglass.
- Now when moving reports to a different folder, if WinTOTAL finds two files with the same file name, WinTOTAL looks to see if the report was created by you or if it came from another WinTOTAL user. If it came from a copy of WinTOTAL licensed to you, you’ll now be asked if you want to create a new report or replace the report already in the folder with the one you’re moving. If it was created from a copy of WinTOTAL licensed to another appraiser, the file will be moved and the filename will have a 0 appended to the end.
- Now when selecting multiple reports and deleting them the screen will refresh properly.
- The “Last Sent” column heading now properly updates with the last date the report was sent to the Vault. We’ll be posting a follow up fix to this to rename the column to “Last Sent to Vault”.
- The right click menu now works correctly from within the expanded details view of a report.
- Now when selecting multiple reports and choosing Move/Copy, the screen will refresh properly after they’ve been moved or copied.
- Now after searching for and opening a report, and then returning to the Files PowerView, it will no longer appear blank.
- With the auto-expand turned off, now after renaming reports the file won’t expand on its own.
- Right clicking on an expanded report and choosing Open no longer blanks out the expanded view.
- The Last Modified line in the expanded view now shows the WinTOTAL user who last modified the report instead of the appraiser assigned to the report.
- After searching for reports by Client, if you edited the Order form for an XSite integrated report in the Files PowerView and then clicked Save, the report would sync with your XSite and then the screen would refresh, making you have to search by Client again. This has been corrected.
- If you created a report that was integrated with your XSite, and then for whatever reason no longer have WinTOTAL tied to an XSite, clicking Mark As Paid no longer gives an error, and does let you mark the report as paid.
- When switching from folder to folder, the History tab refreshes correctly.
- If you attach a network drive as an attached directory in the Files PowerView and then that network drive is removed from network, the attached directory is removed from the Files PowerView, but added back in automatically if the network drive is reconnected. This is handy for people working with laptops in a wireless environment.
- Right clicking a folder and choosing “Assign as synchronized” no longer gives an “Object variable or width block variable not set” error.
- A rare problem was found with having an attached directory that was last in the folders list, where after is was removed the Files PowerView would try to load the Drive: A directory the next time the Appraisal Desktop was opened. This should no longer happen.
- In some instances if there was only one report in a folder, if you tried to add a status it would give an error. This has been corrected.
- When using an attached directory, the number of files in that folder now displays correctly in the bottom left corner of the screen.
- The Invoice Number, Invoice Date and Fees now synchronize into WinTOTAL correctly from orders placed either on the XSite or from orders started on one machine, synchronized with the XSite and then pulled down onto a second machine.
Images PowerView
- QuickPix will now recognize some newer image formats.
- Now when starting a new report in Aurora and merging with an Athena report, dragging and dropping photos into the new report doesn’t create duplicate images in the Images Database.
- Images that have long file names no longer give errors when added to reports.
- When editing the image name in the “Images on disk” or “Unused Images” view, you can now see the cursor.
Comps PowerView
- When you reset your comps side-by-side toolbar to the defaults, it no longer resets to the comps database buttons.
- An “Add Comp” button has been added to the toolbar in the side-by-side view. When adding a fourth, seventh or tenth comp, a progress bar also pops up indicating the additional comps page is being added to the report as well.
HoverLinks
- Now when adding a new HoverLink with a URL, the “Add field from report” option now works correctly when adding more than one field.
Maps
- You can now verify placement of any balloon against 2 alternative map providers: Google & MapQuest, and report differences via an e-mail link.
- There is a new right-click menu in the map wizard when annotating balloons that allows you to scroll the map to that point, or re-download and re-center the map around that point.
- Editing or replacing old maps now works correctly.
- When you add a new map, the page title field is now a combo box that you can select pre-defined map page titles from, or click in and type your own.
- When you merge in a map from an old report then double-click to edit it, it will now correctly open in the map wizard, not the image optimizer.
- When you initiate a new map from the Tools menu instead of the Maps PowerView, the proximities will now transfer correctly to the form.
- When you have the option to get optimal maps enabled, you will now get a true optimal quality map (1200x1800px).
- In some instances, when editing an existing map, if you changed from the Annotate option to the Highlight option and then double clicked the map, you might have gotten a Run Time Error 9 or 440. This has been corrected.
- Now when changing the page header on a location map page, the change shows correctly in the Table of Contents and on the form itself in the Forms PowerView.
Pocket TOTAL
- The Appraisal Institute AI Reports™ form is available for Pocket TOTAL.
General
- WinTOTAL will now run a SafeStart if it detects that the Appraisal Desktop was not shut down correctly.
- WinTOTAL will now alert you if you attempt to open a read-only file.
- If opening a Athena report in Aurora and the Athena report is invalid, the upgrade utility now looks to see if there is a backup copy of the report, and if so will attempt to upgrade that file.
Updated Forms
- A typo on the VA Client Requirements [08/2005] [Appraiser Sig.] form has been corrected.
- Margins have been corrected in 4 cover letter pages.
- You can now manually enter the effective date under the supervisor signature in the FIRREA/USPAP Addendum.
- The List Price now correctly transfers to a Listings Photo page.
