SQL Developer – (Oklahoma City) - submit resume

We have an opening in our Business Application Development department for a SQL Developer. As a SQL Developer at a la mode, you will support the decision makers that drive this company's strategy and profitability by providing informative reports and performing advanced analytics, such as data mining and trend analysis. A sound understanding of business, combined with keen technical and analytical skills are required for success in this role. In addition, qualified candidates will be self-motivated and demonstrate effective time and task management skills.

As a SQL Developer at a la mode you get the opportunity to:

  • Write and optimize SQL & T-SQL scripts, including procedures, views, functions and triggers
  • Translate business requirements to SQL scripts that will support sales and marketing initiatives
  • Create reports using SQL Server Reporting Services that will help our management teams assess market conditions, identify profitable opportunities, and measure the performance of their respective business areas
  • Extract, transform, and load data using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Scrub, integrate, and enrich data using DataFlux
  • Identify data quality problems and their root cause. Propose fixes and create data audits to ensure the problem is resolved
  • Develop and maintain data warehouses using SQL Server Analysis Services. Then, leverage those data warehouses for reporting, analytics, and decision support systems
  • Provide expert advice in the usage and interpretation of data for all business areas
  • Play a key role in defining reporting standards and metrics

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience with SQL, T-SQL, and relational databases. Preferably, SQL Server 2005 or newer
  • Minimum 1 year experience with SQL Server Reporting Services or similar reporting platform
  • Minimum 1 year experience with ETL software, such as SQL Server Integration Services
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication. This role requires frequent communication with team members at all levels in the company
  • Experience with DataFlux is highly desirable, but not required
  • Experience with data warehouse technology, such as SQL Server Analysis Services is highly desirable, but not required
  • Bachelor degree in Information Systems or Computer Science preferred (equivalent professional experience considered)

As a Software Testing Engineer at a la mode, you will play a crucial role in verifying that the applications we build meet our high quality standards. In addition, you must possess a keen attention to detail and the ability to empathize with our end users for purposes of understanding their processes and challenges.

As a Software Testing Engineer at a la mode you get the opportunity to:

  • Analyze application logs for defects using SQL & TSQL
  • Identify and create use cases and formulate testing plans
  • Write and execute manual and automated tests
  • Write unit tests and automated tests using C# or VB .NET
  • Develop and execute white-box/black-box tests

A qualified candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience testing web applications, including, but not limited to, creating and executing white-box/black-box tests, usability tests, and fuzz tests
  • 1+ years' experience with SQL and relational databases
  • 1+ years' experience writing automated tests, preferably with C# or VB .NET. Candidates with experience writing automated tests using other languages will be considered
  • 1+ years' experience in a customer service role, preferably supporting application users
  • Excellent verbal and written communication. Frequent communication with end users and team members at all levels is required
