Brian J. Davis
This is Brian’s third a la mode Convention. This year he’ll be leading a Paperless Office class to help you understand the real costs of paper; how to create a paperless mindset, and how to get your paperless office started. Brian is a 23 year veteran appraiser from central Illinois and has been an a la mode customer since the late 80’s. You might also know Brian as moderator of the popular online WinTOTAL Users Group, or as owner of the blog.
Lance Dockins
Lance influences the overall direction of our training materials by providing up-to-date manuals, technical documents, comprehensive search tools, and webinar training to help you familiarize yourself with our products. In the past four years, he’s offered assistance in sales, support, documentation, training, and in providing tools and training to help our support technicians quickly address your questions and concerns. Lance has personally taught thousands of appraisers at our Conventions, seminars, Hands On Training courses, and webinars.
Matt Krodel
Since 1992, Matt has served a la mode in various roles, ranging from Development to Product Management, training and customer service. Currently, Matt oversees a la mode’s Technical Support Department, as well as the Training and Documentation team. He’s personally taught at dozens of Regional Seminars and Conventions across the country, and has enjoyed experiencing the growth of the company throughout the years.
Eric Richardson
Eric has trained on the road with a la mode for over nine years in cities across the country, including the first Convention in Las Vegas. He is a licensed REALTOR and certified Instructor with the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission.
He’s got the experience, know-how and creativity to show appraisers how to stay competitive and actually increase their business and bottom line in a normalizing market. He’s also looking forward to seeing the many appraisers that he has met through the years again, and catching up.
Kerry Master
Kerry is the newest addition to a la mode’s Instructors, specializing in a variety of industry topics, as well as a la mode product lines. Since 1989, he has been an active guest speaker at National and Regional Seminars, teleseminars, and Conventions. Kerry founded the first web integration firm in the Southwest U.S. in 1993, making him a veteran of the Internet and eBusiness. Before joining a la mode, he worked on many well-known web projects including ChurchillDowns.com, TheSportingNews.com and Thrifty.com, to name a few. In short, very few people know more about doing business "the web way" than Kerry does.
Jeff Jones
Jeff’s company, TechSource, is an Atlanta-based technology consulting firm that specializes in serving appraisers. Jeff, formerly an appraiser in South Florida, founded TechSource in 2001 with a mission to provide full time IT consulting services to real estate appraisers nationwide. Today, Jeff and TechSource help appraisers with network installation, troubleshooting and maintenance, domain and peer to peer infrastructures, home office users, office integrated software, cabling and wireless technology. They also provide on-site support and training for the complete line of a la mode software products including WinTOTAL, XSites and XSellerate.
Jennifer Miller
Jennifer started with a la mode nearly six years ago as a Server Administrator in the rapidly-expanding Network Operations Center. She now is in charge of the vast array of special projects that relate to all a la mode products. These projects range from integrations with lenders and AMCs via XSite Order Manger plugins, managing the installation and migration of new CertMail server farms, and implementing the ability to accept credit cards from Appraiser XSites. Jennifer is currently working on the Aurora Desktop Billing project. If you have a question about a la mode products in general, and how they interact with each other, Jennifer is the person to ask.
Adam Calvery
Adam is responsible for the overall direction for all of a la mode’s appraisal products. He works very closely with the a la mode labs projects, with the alpha and beta programs, and with Development and Marketing to bring the entire product line together. Over six years ago, Adam started in Technical Support, and has since worked in Marketing and Product Management. He’s taught thousands of appraisers at Regional Seminars, Hands On Training classes, and Conventions.
Chris Low
Chris has been a with a la mode for three years as a Product Manager. Before coming to a la mode, he worked in the software industry for nearly 20 years, and has done everything from technical support, testing and QA, to development and product design in past lives. Chris works out of our Salt Lake City office and focuses on our web-based and marketing-centric products. Jimmy Voegele
Jimmy has been with a la mode for over eight years, and is now the lead Developer for WinTOTAL. He is a licensed Real Estate Appraiser and Real Estate Agent, and has taught multiple Comps Database, and MLS Import courses at Conventions and Regional Seminars in years’ passed. Jimmy is looking forward to meeting more WinTOTAL users face-to-face and getting valuable feedback on Aurora. What features matter to you the most? Alonso Portillo
Alonso has been with a la mode for over 12 years, and has taught thousands of appraisers at our Regional Seminars, and Conventions. He is also a Licensed Real Estate Appraiser and Real Estate Agent. Alonso has a technical background and a rich knowledge of the appraisal industry. He loves meeting and talking to customers face-to-face at tradeshows and training events.
Brian Hedges
Brian oversees the entire Appraisal Sales Department and is responsible for improving customer service, and he works closely with many of our customers. He also does extensive product and industry training with our representatives to ensure that our customers receive the best advice when looking for ways to improve their business. Brian’s industry and product knowledge, and many discussions with the most successful appraisers around have helped make him one of the top consultants for appraisers.
Joel Baker
During his four years with a la mode, Joel has worked as a Customer Service representative, Tech Team Leader, new hire and technician Instructor, and more recently as a Sales Engineer, helping new customers get up and running. Joel has also spent a lot of time traveling around to appraiser offices, training staff members and sharing his expertise in product workflow and productivity for different types of appraisal practices. Joel has taught tens of thousands of appraisers at Regional Seminars, webinars, Conventions, and Hands On Training classes.
Erik Valentine
Erik has been with a la mode for nearly two years now, and this will be his second Convention to teach at. As a Team Lead on our Technical Support Floor, Erik helps to make sure that when you call with a question, you get the right answer in a timely manner. He taught the Images and Mapping courses at the Orlando 2006 Convention, and he has also helped with multiple Hands on Training classes, to rave reviews.
Michael Elliott
Michael will be teaching the Pocket TOTAL/Field Data Collection class for the second year to help appraisers become more efficient and accurate on inspections. He has been an appraiser for 15 years and currently works in the Kansas City market. Michael has a wide variety of experience with appraisal technology, particularly mobile technology, and is also a beta tester/user for
a la mode.
