The update scheduled for today is now available on our servers.  To download it, click the “Get Updates” button on the toolbar in your Appraisal Desktop.

This is a large update, and it’s one where I think you’ll be able to feel the improvements immediately.  At the end of this message is a list of all the improvements in this update.  I’d encourage you to take a couple of minutes and scan through them.  They can also be seen, along with other important information, on the Aurora status website.  Just click here to visit it.

This update is packed not only with fixes, but with a lot of those “little things” you’ve been asking for.  Things like the Advanced Find telling you when it finds no results, or when signing a report the current WinTOTAL user’s signature is selected instead of the first user in the list.  These aren't big things, but they add up and help you work faster.

The most immediate changes you’ll feel in this update are the much anticipated improvements to the form navigation.  The movement of the cursor as you fill out your forms is much cleaner and we’ve also added a series of new hotkeys for easier navigation between PowerViews.  You can see which forms have had the navigation improved and see the new hotkeys in the release notes below.  This update has received outstanding reviews from our beta members and those of you who’ve downloaded alpha versions.  Getting this excited about an update is a pretty good sign I need to get out more, but I think you’ll agree with me that this one is exceptional.

WinTOTAL Aurora (v5) – November 16, 2006 Update
This update contains enhanced form navigation, new keyboard shortcuts, and updates to many areas of WinTOTAL.

Updated/Enhanced Form Navigation
This release contains updated form navigation for the WinTOTAL order forms and the most commonly used major forms.  You should experience a noticeable improvement in consistency and predictability in how the cursor moves from one field to the next using the TAB, ENTER, CTRL+Arrow, and arrow keys within the form.  Here’s a brief explanation of how each key should move within WinTOTAL:

• TAB key now works much like a typewriter, moving from left to right on one line then wrapping to the next line.  SHIFT+TAB will move backwards along this same path.
• ENTER follows the logical path of data entry in the form, as it always has in WinTOTAL.  SHIFT+ENTER will move backwards along this same path.
• CTRL+left/right arrow keys will move left or right one field at a time until they hit the edge of the form at which point they will stop.  [Note:  The exception to this is within the comparable sales view.  On these fields where you do your adjustments, when you hit the edge of the form the cursor will wrap to the first or last field on the same line.]

Other improvements related to form navigation include all navigation keys moving to the next form when they hit the last field of the current form (if you’re on the last field of a report it will wrap back to the first field on the first form), and if you’re using QuickList entries you’ll notice they now correctly follow the ENTER path when applied.

We’ll be updating and enhancing the navigation on many more major and minor forms in future updates.

Comps PowerView

• A "division by zero" error, which could occur when expanding a comp with only one column showing in the database, has been corrected.
• When importing comps from old reports, quickly changing the report selected will no longer cause WinTOTAL to become unresponsive.

Comps Database

• A duplicate column, "Square Ft" has been removed from the list of available columns.

Digital Workfile

• Special characters, like "#", "&", "%", "/", and "$", entered in the comments are preserved and no longer replaced with a text equivalent.
• Using the Enter key in the File Comments no longer leaves characters.

Files PowerView

• A warning message is now displayed if an order that is currently being edited is opened and changed by someone else on a network.
• The Advanced Find now tells you when no results are found.
• The Appraised Value no longer show as zero when dollar signs are used.
• Arrow keys now work to navigate the reports list when the image “flyout” is displayed.
• Cloning a report no longer brings over data in the Date Signed field.
• Declining a STARS order now removes it from the File PowerView.
• An “Empty Deleted Items” feature is now available to delete all files at once.
• Items can again be removed from the Workfile tab in the Appraisal Desktop.
• Moving a report between folders while in the order form view now refreshes immediately to show the order form of the currently highlighted report.
• The Workfile tab no longer appears to delete items without first selecting the edit button.
• Right-clicking to open an order in the Tracking view will now prompt you to select a folder for the report to be saved in.
• The correct number of WinTOTAL Authorization files now shows in the Manage My WinTOTAL Authorization Files option.
• The keyboard can now be used to navigate through the reports list based on the column currently sorted.
• The report grid now locks while a report is in the process of expanding, so having more than one report auto-expand is no longer problematic.
• When opening an APO or RELS order, the Appraisal Desktop opens to the New Requests folder with that order highlighted.
• When searching in the Files PowerView with a report open, the search results will no longer reset if WinTOTAL auto-saves the open file.
• When using the right-click menu to set status for reports, it was possible to have information shown from a different report.  This will no longer happen.
• With one folder selected, right-clicking on a different folder will now highlight the new one and show the right-click menu properly.
• A certain scenario could cause the column settings for the Files view and the Tracking view to be incorrectly changed to be identical.  This will no longer happen.
• After conditionally declining an order and choosing to delete it, that order is immediately removed from the reports list.
• Changes to contacts in Athena reports made on the Order tab are now shown in the report correctly when the report is opened in WinTOTAL.
• Several customers reported that double-clicking on a column heading caused an error.  This has been corrected.
• Reports can now be opened immediately after rebuilding a folder.
• The arrow keys can be used to navigate through the forms list immediately after opening the Appraisal Desktop.
• The cause of a delay seen when clicking on a RELS order has been found and fixed.

Forms PowerView

• An issue has been corrected which caused changes made to an addenda when in the split-screen view to not print until leaving that view.
• The adjustments for square footage on the Review Short Form - 2006 will no longer blank out after using the Square Footage Adjuster.

General

• When signing a report, the current WinTOTAL user's signature is now selected instead of the first user in the list.
• A problem has been resolved which could cause a QuickList comment to not populate a field when using the option to automatically show drop-down lists when entering a field.
• A specific process that could prevent text typed into a field from being saved into the Recent Response list has been corrected.
• An issue has been corrected that could cause certain fields to shift when editing a sketch in a report containing older versions of the WinTOTAL order form.
• An issue has been resolved which caused the WinTOTAL database update process to not run correctly from workstations on a network.
• Switching PowerViews when viewing the All in QuickLists, no longer causes the add new entry item to be duplicated.
• The net and gross adjustment percentages are now always printed for forms that were created with these fields. This affects the latest forms from Fannie Mae.
• The text "Page 1" is no longer put into the form title when adding a one page document into a report.
• Three digit numbers are no longer added to the filename when a duplicate copy of the same report is created.  Instead, a single digit is added to the end of the file name to denote the difference.
• When merging information from a report and unmarking the photos for a photo page, the default form text will not be lost on that form.

Images PowerView

• In the Images On Disk view, right-clicking on an image now selects the image before showing the menu.
• The right-click menu is now available even when no images are displayed, and can be used to access the Show All and Advanced search options.
• A change was made to prevent the incorrect preview image from showing immediately after switching views.
• Albums can now be renamed.
• In the Images On Disk view, the browse link no longer can be activated by clicking the surrounding area.
• In the Unused Images and Images On Disk views, images can now be deselected by holding down the CTRL key and clicking.
• Selecting "No" to display an album when downloading images no longer causes that album to be hidden in the My Albums view.
• The Advanced search will now return the correct images based on the search criteria entered.
• The columns in the My Album view can now be sorted.
• When highlighting several images, right-clicking on one image will no longer cause all images to be unselected.

Legacy Sketch Integration

• A rare issue has been eliminated that could cause new registrations of Apex 3 to fail if Apex 2 is not installed.
• An issue causing multi-page sketches to not be transferred into WinTOTAL has been corrected.

Market PowerView
The Market PowerView is now available inside the Appraisal Desktop.  Any technology vendor who wants to, can integrate with WinTOTAL using our Vendor Integration Platform (VIP) program.  Once integrated via VIP, these technology vendors will be displayed in the WinTOTAL Marketplace, and you’ll know they integrate seamlessly to help save you time.  Starting today you can visit the Marketplace to find sketching programs that integrate seamlessly, and soon you’ll see choices in:

• Flood mapping
• Comps and public records data
• Field data gathering
• Cost data
• Archiving
• and others…

As new vendors integrate using VIP and become available in the WinTOTAL Marketplace we’ll keep you posted.

net.X Connect

• An issue has been resolved that could cause the status items for an order to be lost when synchronizing.
• Better progress is shown when net.X Connect is initializing its connection.
• Bill Due Date is no longer overwritten by default when entered in an unsupported format.
• Borrower Name is now properly updated when syncing orders from an XSite.
• Changes made in an XSite order to the Occupancy field are now transferred correctly into the WinTOTAL report.
• Changes made to the Due Date of an order on an XSite are now synchronized properly into the WinTOTAL report.
• Clicking the net.X Connect button multiple times will no longer open it in multiple windows.
• Date and time of Inspection Scheduled and Complete now show in the status preview.
• Editing a status message no longer prevents that information from being synced to an XSite.
• Marking an order as Cancelled now correctly inserts the cancelled date into the report.
• More than one status message for each report can now be added to the net.X queue when selecting the Send Later option.
• The net.X Connect screen no longer loses focus when editing an unselected status.
• Opening an .ORD file received through e-mail will no longer cause the status list to be blank.
• The correct formatting for phone numbers is shown in orders that were created on an XSite and then synced into WinTOTAL.
• Using the CC: link to select contacts when sending order status’ no longer throws an “invalid e-mail address” error message.
• XSite Client now shows in the conflict resolution screen in net.X Connect.
• A problem has been fixed which would cause certain contact information to be missing when a report was synchronized to an XSite.
• Changes made to an order on an XSite that involved unchecking particular options are now synchronized correctly to WinTOTAL.
• Changes made to the Property Rights field after an order is created on an XSite will now synchronize correctly.
• The Send to Vault option is no longer available when Vault is not installed.
• Several issues have been corrected that could cause problems when syncing reports using an a la mode Login that is associated with multiple XSites.
• The Associate XSite Order option no longer shows the order you currently have open.
• The date and notes entered in Inspection Scheduled or Inspection Complete on the XSite no longer run together when viewed after the order has been synchronized to WinTOTAL.
• Using the setting to "Always use the information from WinTOTAL" to resolve synchronization conflicts will no longer cause certain reports to repeatedly sync.

Order PowerView

• A problem has been corrected which could cause changes made to a report's status in the Order PowerView to not be saved correctly inside the actual report.

QuickPix

• Adding a "/" to the address of a photo will no longer cause an "error 76".

Report Delivery

• A new option has been added to deliver reports in Athena format via e-mail.
• The e-mail addresses for appraiser, supervisor and their companies are now available in the From: field when delivering reports.

Sketch Integration

• An issue has been fixed which could cause an error when opening Apex 2 on network workstations.
• Opening a multi-page sketch and then closing without making changes, will no longer cause only one sketch page to be shown in WinTOTAL.
• An issue has been resolved which could cause an error when opening a legacy sketching program on networks running Active Directory or Terminal Services.
• VIP sketch programs will launch without error when all legacy sketching applications are removed.

Tech Support Assistant

• New utilities have been added to backup and restore the WinTOTAL database.

WinTOTAL Configuration Utility

• In the Sketch view the “Choose your sketcher” drop-down list will close properly if another option is selected.
• The WinTOTAL Configuration Utility can no longer be opened multiple times on the same computer.
