Re: Aurora: November 30th update is ready
Today’s WinTOTAL Aurora update is now available on our servers. To download it, click the “Get Updates” button on the toolbar in your Appraisal Desktop.
Today you'll see there are a significant number of QuickList improvements. Multi-field QuickLists stand out for easier use, and it’s now faster to add, delete, and re-order them. There’s also a new hotkey for entering QuickLists in a single keystroke along with many other enhancements.
Using QuickLists is an extremely easy way to save a ton of formfilling time. It makes repetitive data entry much faster. In fact, if you don’t use them, now is a perfect time to familiarize yourself. You can take a look at our entire WinTOTAL manual online, or you can click here to go directly to the QuickLists section.
I encourage you to take a look at the full list of this update’s improvements at the end of this message. These release notes can also be seen, along with other important information, on the Aurora status website at
www.alamode.com/aurorastatus.
That’s it for today, and as always, thanks for your business. And, thanks again to all of you that keep sending us your feedback and suggestions.

WinTOTAL Aurora (v5) – November 30, 2006 Update
This update contains many improvements to QuickLists and many other areas of WinTOTAL.
QuickList
- Multi-field QuickList comments are now highlighted to differentiate them from single field QuickList comments.
- A new Options link has been added above QuickLists to give you easy access to several helpful settings.
- A “Trim Gaps” button has been added to the Re-Order QuickList Entries screen. This option will remove any empty items in the QuickList and renumber the entries appropriately.
- The CTRL+Q keyboard shortcut has been added to Aurora. This shortcut allows you to type the short name of a QuickList comment and then use CTRL+Q to activate the QuickList and populate the field.
- You can now click and drag QuickList entries in the Re-order QuickList Entries window.
- The contents of a QuickList comment now preview properly when hovering over an item in the list.
- The QuickLists Sidebar header has been updated. The links have been arranged in a more logical order, and the sorting option is handled by the A-Z icon.
- Items in your QuickLists can now be removed by selecting them in the list and hitting the delete key on your keyboard.
- Removing an item from the QuickList no longer removes it from the list of All comments.
- The message shown when adding a QuickList that has the same name as existing entry has been updated with options to replace the previous entry, rename the current one, or cancel the entire process.
- The Re-order QuickList Entries window will now show "<not assigned>" for any items that do not contain an assigned QuickList.
- Your current position in the list is preserved after deleting a QuickList entry.
Comps Database
- A scenario has been corrected which could cause the columns shown in the Edit Column Layout list to be different than what is currently shown in the database view.
- An issue has been resolved that could cause the Quick Search area to be incorrectly shifted to the right on screen.
- Answering "No" to the message that asks if you want to place comps into your report will no longer place those properties in your report.
- Comps that are currently selected are now included in searches that are performed after they are marked to be placed in a report.
- Comps exported from the database are saved in proper comma-separated-value format.
- You can now search in the Bathroom Total field properly.
- Searching for data in the Acres field now works correctly.
- The Customize search screen is now collapsed when leaving the Comps Database view to prevent it from showing incorrectly on other views.
- The information in the Age field is now displayed correctly when a comp is expanded.
- The Room Total field can now be added back to the search menu if it is removed from the list of fields shown.
- The street number can now be removed from a comp in the database.
- When adding a comp manually and selecting photos for that comp, the listed items are now filtered to show only image files.
- When editing a comp from the database, the photos for that comp can now be updated as well.
- The values for the Pool and Age fields no longer appear to be blank after manually editing a comp in the database.
Comps Side-by-side
- The configuration setting to insert, replace, or append QuickLists in multi-line fields is now used in the Comps Side-by-side view.
- The navigation option to move to next word when using CTRL + the arrow keys now works on the side-by-side view.
- A problem has been resolved which could cause the equal key to stop working after using it multiple times to copy information between comps.
- A problem has been fixed that could cause incorrect check marks to be shown when using the Show desired comps list.
- An issue has been fixed that caused recent responses for certain subject fields to populate random comparable fields. As a result, recent responses for the subject will no longer be shared to comps.
- An issue which could cause incorrect adjustment information to be copied when using the equal key has been corrected.
- The default CTRL+ arrow key navigation matches the Forms PowerView and no longer wraps from line to line.
- The Tab key can now be used to select a Recent Response entry from the drop-down list with the keyboard.
- Using the =0 shortcut in a comp now blanks out the adjustment field just like the Forms PowerView.
- You can select QuickLists when the QuickLists are shown in the drop-down lists in each field.
Forms PowerView
- Changes made to images using the Image Optimizer on the Forms PowerView are now shown immediately on the form.
- Using the Area Estimator on an additional comparable page no longer places the site area information in Comp 1.
General
- An issue has been resolved that could cause custom HoverLinks to not work for users on networked workstations.
- Any sketch merged in to a report is now immediately saved. Previously, you would have needed to go to the Sketch PowerView for the sketch to save properly.
- An issue has been fixed that caused a paragraph of default text to be missing on the USPAP Identification form.
Images PowerView
- A problem has been fixed that could cause the Database view to not display correctly after all of the unused images were deleted.
- An error that could be seen when going to the Unused images view when there are no photos to display in that view has been corrected.
- Saving an album with no images no longer prevents that album name from ever being used again.
