Re: Athena: New forms and other important info

Today’s WinTOTAL Athena update is now available on our servers. To download it, click the “Instant Customer Update” button at the top of your Appraisal Desktop.

There are four things I need to make sure you’re aware of today.

1. The new a la mode GP Residential form is available in this update. This form was released to Aurora users last week, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. It's much more suited to non-lender work that the new FNMA forms. The GP Residential is the first in a complete set of legal sized general purpose, or “GP," forms, to be quickly followed by letter sized versions. You can find this form in the new “a la mode General Purpose Forms and Addenda” folder in your Contents, along with a GP Residential Addendum and an Additional Comparables form. We’re currently working on a GP Land form that we’ll have available for review on the Aurora Status website next week.

2. Check out the new WinTOTAL Marketplace. In your Appraisal Desktop you’ll notice that you have a new Marketplace icon on the left. The WinTOTAL Marketplace highlights all the third party products that integrate seamlessly with WinTOTAL. You can use it to find new products that help you save time and work more efficiently, and to invite your favorite vendors to get their products in the WinTOTAL Marketplace. The more products that integrate, the more choices you have in the tools you use every day. Look for a new flood map and comps data providers to be available in the Marketplace over the next few months. The Marketplace has been available in WinTOTAL Aurora (v5) since November, and any third party products you purchase there will also work in Aurora if/when you choose to upgrade from Athena.

3. The new Windows Vista operating system is scheduled for public release January 30th, but we don't recommend it for Athena users. There are a couple of reasons. We've identified several incompatibilities between the older Athena software and the new Windows Vista. To make it work for Athena users would require a substantial amount of development. As we've talked about before, we're not doing any new development just for Athena other than forms and minor tweaks. To be very specific, you can make configuration changes to a standalone version of Vista that will allow Athena to run, but it won't run in a networked environment. As a result, we won't be supporting Athena on Vista. Also, while Vista has a very nice new look, it’s essentially Windows XP with a face-lift, and there really aren't any new "must have" features.

4. Appraiser SureDocs goes to public beta on January 30th. Protecting your identity and the integrity of the data in your reports is a constant concern. To help you do that we’ve built Appraiser SureDocs. When the public beta is ready, you'll get another e-mail from me. We'll have a website up that will go into much greater detail, answer all your questions, and have a link for you to download and try Appraiser SureDocs. The public beta period will last about a month, and we'll be looking to get your unfiltered feedback. I'd like to briefly hit on some of Appraiser SureDocs’ high points here.

Again, the public beta will begin on January 30th, and we'll have a website up with much more information and a free download link.

That's it for today. Thanks for your time, and thank you for your business. Please let me know if you have any questions.

WinTOTAL Athena (v4) – January 22, 2007 Update
This update contains the new Vendor Integration Platform (VIP) sketching integration.

WinTOTAL Marketplace
In your Appraisal Desktop you now have a new view on the left called Marketplace. The WinTOTAL Marketplace is where you find products that are third party to WinTOTAL, that you can be sure integrate seamlessly. As more and more vendors integrate their products through our Vendor Integration Platform (VIP), they’ll become available in the WinTOTAL Marketplace. From the Marketplace you can learn more about each vendor’s services or software, purchase directly from them, and easily authorize that product for integrated use in WinTOTAL.

Vendor Integration Platform (VIP)
Via our new VIP, all of our products will allow any software developer to integrate on equal terms and without any preference given to one over another. When vendors of various software and services sign up to be a VIP vendor and integrate via our Google-style open Application Programming Interface (API), you as an end user will be able to visit the WinTOTAL Marketplace to find them.
