My clients are reluctant to use a website ordering system.  What can I do?

  • Put them in touch with other "local" lenders that are using the system.  Their peers might give the extra influence you need.
  • Ask them why they're reluctant.  You may be able to overcome some of their objections,
or find out some legitimate concerns that you can address.
  • Offer to come to their office to show them how it works and how easy it really is!  Start
out with three or four of your best clients, set them up with accounts, and place the order online right in front of them.  If you have access to a laptop and projector, you could put on a "demonstration" in their office.
  • Stress the two-way communication aspects like integration with their current ordering system (such as Calyx), status update messages, and the online report storage.

I've only got one client placing orders on my XSite.  How can I get more?

  • Communicate with your clients.  Whenever a client calls to order an appraisal, be sure to tell them that they can order the appraisal online!  Ask them . . ."Would you mind if I set up an account for you?"   "It's free and I think you'll really like not having to play "phone-tag" just to order an appraisal."
  • Be sure to constantly promote.  Never miss an opportunity to let your clients know that
    you "offer" online ordering.
  • Get to the person that "processes" the order!  The "LO" might not have a clue so get to
the "Loan Processor".  They may be the ones that can recognize the efficiency of using an online ordering system.
  • Be strict with how you'll accept client orders.  Let them know that you can only accept orders online through your XSite.  Once your clients get used to getting the e-mail notifications, they'll be hooked.

I had online ordering enabled but didn't get any orders.  Why?

  • Can your clients find you?  Do a search for your company on Google™ for example.  Does your site show up in the first page or two?  If not, it's likely that your clients are unable to find you.  Do some research and edit your site's keywords and descriptions.  Be very specific about your coverage areas and the types of appraisals you do.  For some additional information on search engine optimization, click here.
  • Promote the fact that you do have a website and that you offer online ordering.  Include your XSite's url and online ordering statement on your e-mails, invoices, letters, Yellow Page ads, business cards, phone message, etc.

What are the real benefits of my clients ordering online anyway?

  • Online ordering can help eliminate phone tag
  • May integrate with your current LOS
  • Appraisal order status updates for you and your clients
  • Client plug-ins (optional) can tailor report delivery to client's specifications
  • Server based report delivery - same report can be downloaded many times at several locations for multiple clients and/or users
  • Online report storage
  • Listing in a National Appraiser Directory (the XSites Network)
  • Appraisal Management Reports
