As you may know, we were scheduled to release the TOTAL update with the new Worksheets PowerView yesterday.  But at the last minute, our appraisal beta group (users just like you) found two minor worksheet issues:  One was related to swapping out major forms with embedded worksheet links, and the other to conversion of older Aurora worksheet templates.  Those problems have already been fixed, but now we're taking a couple of days to run them back through full testing with the betas.

Since TOTAL's Worksheets PowerView is the single most powerful feature of any appraisal form filler (you can literally automate an entire appraisal, doing complex text and numeric transfers into and out of forms), we think a couple of extra days of testing is worth it. 

Meanwhile, pull out your standalone Excel spreadsheets and put some thought in to how you'd use them in TOTAL.  Any field in a form can get pushed to a cell in the spreadsheet, and vice versa.  Once it "clicks" in your head how much it can automate when combining forms with spreadsheets, you'll never look at a report the same way again.  You'll love it when you get your hands on it next week.

A new update will be ready for you tomorrow afternoon.  To download this new update plus any prior updates you may have missed, just click Help (with TOTAL open), and then click Check for Updates.

This release adds the highly-anticipated Worksheets PowerView to TOTAL 2013.  (It's one of WinTOTAL's most appreciated features.)  Worksheets save time and boost accuracy by automating an endless amount of calculations, along with custom transfers.  And, of course, you can work in your form on one monitor and the Worksheet on another thanks to TOTAL's "undockable" PowerViews.  For the full scoop, click here to read the blog post.




In keeping with our recent updates, this update also includes a host of stability and performance improvements throughout TOTAL.  See the full list below.  Overall, you'll notice a big difference.

As always, thanks again for giving us your thoughts via the Feedback feature inside TOTAL.  Several of these changes came directly from the Feedback option, which obviously is the whole point.  We read them every day and we can track them much better than standard e-mails.  Please keep them coming and we'll keep making TOTAL better.

TOTAL 2013 – October Update 1

Worksheet PowerView

  • Worksheets PowerView is new to TOTAL to handle mathematical and statistical formulas, along with text manipulation without opening a new program.

Printing/Report Delivery

  • Printing an unsigned report to PDF from the Appraisal Desktop will place a copy of the PDF into the workfile when the "Print Copy to Workfile" option is checked.
  • The To and CC fields in the "Deliver TOTAL report via e-mail" screen will auto complete from the contacts within the report and the last 5 contacts emailed.
  • The drop-down arrow in the To and CC fields in the "Deliver TOTAL report via e-mail" screen will display all contacts from within the report and the last 5 email addresses typed into the field.
  • The drop-down arrow in the Subject field in the "Deliver TOTAL report via e-mail" screen will remember the last five entries typed into the field.
  • You'll be able to expand the drop-down for the To, CC, and Subject fields in the "Deliver TOTAL report via e-mail" screen with the "Alt + Down" shortcut.

  • The MLS Text File Importer will have integrated help links.

General

  • We've made many improvements behind the scenes regarding the stability and "under the hood" performance of TOTAL.  You'll notice that various parts of the program will function more smoothly and consistently.
  • We fixed an issue that could cause data to be lost when moving a report between Aurora and TOTAL multiple times.
  • An issue has been corrected that occasionally caused photos to be removed after printing an Aurora report that hadn't yet been opened in TOTAL.
  • Auto Save will no longer be triggered if no changes have been made in the report.

Addenda PowerView

  • Invalid underline marks will no longer be displayed under the addenda section header after overflowing from the main form.
E&O PowerView
  • Running E&O with the Exterior-Only Condo [1075] form will no longer result in an error.
Forms Engine
  • We fixed an issue that could cause the adjustment calculations to be incorrect for an Aurora report opened in TOTAL.
  • An invalid QuickList for a field will no longer cause an error when you enter the field.
Side-by-Side PowerView
  • Copying a field from another property using "=" will no longer prevent you from editing the adjustment for that field.
  • The "Sort Comps" toolbar option will no longer function in a signed report.
TOTAL for Mobile 2013 Sync
  • We fixed an issue that sometimes prevented information from transferring from page 1 to page 2 after synching from TOTAL for Mobile 2013.
