Asked Questions
about the a la mode 2nd Annual Winter Convention
When and where is the convention?
This year's event is being held on January 16th through the 18th at
the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, which is located less than 5 minutes from
the strip. Further details can be found at the
Rio homepage.
What is the Convention Schedule?
You can find the convention schedule here. We plan
to offer a wide variety of courses covering our entire spectrum of
software with specialized courses such as: Comps Management, Formfilling
Essentials, Automated Marketing, and many more. The courses listed
are subject to change.
Do I need to pre-register for the classes?
No. It's not required. However, if you wish to
attend one of our Hands on Training (HOT) classes, seats will be limited
to only one class per attendee.
All classes will be offered multiple times throughout the convention.
Who should I contact for hotel reservations?
Please contact the Rio Hotel directly at (888) 746-7482
for hotel reservations. Be sure to ask for the a la mode convention
rate. Make your reservations early since we have a limited number of
discounted rooms available. What do I need to bring to the classes?
Just you and an open mind. When you check in, your welcome kit
will include your registration badge, course manuals, a pen, and other
various items. Make sure you wear your badge at all times, as nobody
without a badge will be allowed into any of the classrooms.
Can I bring my laptop?
Our courses are designed so that a laptop is not needed. All of
the information will be presented clearly in the given outlines. However,
if you choose to bring your laptop, keep in mind that space and power outlets will be limited.
Make sure you battery is fully charged each day.
Will I get Continuing Education for the classes?
No. These courses are designed to maximize your knowledge of the
industry tools you use everyday. We don't write our course material based on
what each state's appraisal board requires. If you simply want to sit
through another boring course to gain a few hours of CE credit, these
courses probably aren't for you. They'll be engaging, entertaining, and most
importantly, relevant to your needs. Will there be any prizes or giveaways?
Yes! In the past we've given away PC's, Pocket PC's, Disto
Laser Meters, vacations and other cool items. We'll be giving away
similar items at this convention as well!
When is the cocktail mixer?
On Monday evening, January 16th, from 5 to 7 pm in the exhibit
hall. This is a great opportunity to meet other
appraisers and spend time in the exhibit hall checking out new appraisal
technology products and tools.
Will you be serving any meals?
On January 17th, we'll be hosting a panel lunch covering our
Appraisal Advocacy efforts. We'll have members of our appraisal
advocacy team discussing hot topics such as lender pressure and what you can
do to fight, and what we're already doing about it. Tickets for this
event are only $25 and that lets you sit in on the panel discussion, ask
questions to the panel members, and includes a plated lunch (not a sandwich
and chips). You won't want to miss this! That same night, we'll
be hosting our dinner event. If you've been to our past conventions,
you know that everybody looks forward to this evening. We'll be
hosting a buffet-style dinner, entertainment from a great comedian, and
music and dancing from our DJ. Oh yeah, did we mention that the
admission price includes an open bar? Tickets for this event are only $75.
Tickets are required for both events and can be purchased by
clicking here. Can I still
get tickets to the lunch and the dinner?
There are limited seats available for both the panel lunch and the
dinner event. We'll continue to sell tickets until they're gone.
You can get your tickets by calling 1.800.ALAMODE or by registering
online here. If we don't sell out prior to the convention, they
will be available for sale at the registration desk where you check in.
But don't wait...be sure to reserve your seat for an event to remember! What's
on the menu for dinner on Tuesday?
We're still finalizing the menu, but count on a buffet-style dinner
with a variety of salads, entrees and desserts. Entrees will include a
choice of steak, chicken and fish. Cocktails and wine will be served
as well. Vegetarian meals will be available upon request. What
should I wear to the dinner?
Business casual is preferred, but feel free to dress it up a bit.
When a la mode puts on a party, we like to dress to impress.
Can I bring a guest to dinner?
Absolutely! You can register additional guests for only $75.
Dinner begins at 7 pm and will go until 11 pm. Will
there be entertainment at the dinner?
The evening will be packed with laughs, dancing and good company.
We'll have a comedian during dinner as well as a DJ to keep your feet moving
on the dance floor. When that many appraisers get together, it's bound
to be a good time!
Who will be there from your office? Can I meet my
favorite tech and sales person?
There's a great chance you will! We'll have a large booth in the
exhibit hall where you can meet with our technicians, sales people, and
product developers. We're bringing over 75 people so that should provide
you with every opportunity to put a face with the voice.
You didn't answer my question...who should I ask?

events@alamode.com and
we'll be happy to answer your questions. |
