New Mapping Program for Real Estate Appraisers is a Snap | |
|
Edmond, OK – a la mode inc., the nation’s leading provider of real estate appraisal software, has announced the release of MapSnap™, a new Internet-based solution that provides the latest, highly detailed maps for use by real estate appraisers.
MapSnap, designed to be compatible with any Windows®-based appraisal software, offers appraisers a number of advantages they won’t often find with other programs, says Mike Unser, a la mode product manager.
“What we’ve developed is an application specifically focused on appraisers’ needs, and one that can be used with every appraisal program. The maps are extraordinarily detailed and fill an entire legal page. They’re continually updated. They’re easy to use, so they save appraiser time,” Unser says.
According to Unser, the resolution on MapSnap’s maps, provided through the a la mode’s eDomina.com servers, is one of its chief advantages.
“If you hold up one of our maps against a competitor’s,
you’ll see at a glance that our maps include more streets,
more street names and smoother lines,” Unser says.
MapSnap makes an appraiser’s job easy by automatically placing the subject property and comparables on the map after addresses have been entered. Distances from comparables to the subject property are automatically calculated and shown. Appraisers have the option to add comments and symbols to the map to add explanation or personalize it for a client.
Unlike other programs, which print maps as a square block on a legal-sized sheet of paper, MapSnap maps fill an entire 8½ x 14 sheet, consistent with the rest of an appraisal report.
To use MapSnap, appraisers simply open the software and enter the subject address and comparable addresses. MapSnap then automatically makes an Internet connection, connects to a la mode’s eDomina server and downloads a correctly sized location map complete with distances between subjects and comps. A small yearly charge covers an unlimited number of map downloads each year.
Like
other a la mode software, MapSnap comes with a 100-day
money-back guarantee. It can also be updated through the
same “Instant Customer Update” technology a la mode
pioneered with its WinTOTAL software. When enhancements and
updates to the software are available, MapSnap can be
directed to make an Internet connection and download and
install changes.
MapSnap
was created after feedback from users of the mapping program
that is already part of a la mode’s WinTOTAL appraisal
software. Nearly 8,000 maps a business day – in excess of
2 million a year – are downloaded by WinTOTAL users from a
la mode’s servers. Because customer use and surveys
indicate a high degree of satisfaction with the maps,
company officials decided to develop a new mapping program
compatible for use with any appraisal software.
